In the case of saddle roofs, the roof covering of which is underpinned by an insulation, venting and ventilation of the interspace between roofing tiles and insulation is required. If profiled roofing tiles are used, there are problems in conjunction with the ridge ventilation elements which engage over the ridge and are seated, by means of their edge parts, on the roofing tiles adjoining the ridge. The invention proposes the use of special tiles, provided with a web at the front, as ridge-adjoining roofing tiles, which, in the laid state, form a bearing layer, which extends over the length of the ridge and is intended for the edge regions of a sealing strip which engages over the ridge and is, on the one hand, permeable to air and, on the other hand, water-repellent, over which ridge tiles engage and which are seated, by means of their longitudinal edges, on the ridge-adjoining roofing tiles such that they jut out beyond the sealing strip. As a result, a ventilation system is proposed which is easy to install and has improved venting and thus ventilation. IMAGE
