The anti-skid control circuit determines the type of road surface from the braking effects when the pulsed brake pressure is applied. If a bumpy surface, or varying grip surface, is detected then the anti-skid mode is adjusted to obtain better control and comfort e.g. the pulse pattern is changed as well as the brake pressure variation. The wheel slip is computed from wheel speed sensors and the brake pressure is corrected w.r.t. the pulse pattern and hysteresis factors. The correction applied depends on whether a poor road surface is diagnosed or a good surface. ADVANTAGE - Better braking control on poor roads, improved passenger safety and comfort.
