Improving head related sound characteristics for TV audio signal playback - using controlled audio signal processing for conversion into stereo audio signals

The audio signal processing method involves controllably converting conventional single- and/or multi-channel TV or HDTV audio signals into stereo, or spatial stereo audio signals. The processing circuit supplies a spatial simulating headphone with two loudspeaker pairs with frontal plane, stereo, spatial listening effects, and direct listening effects. Pref. a controllable, multi-channel, audio signal mixer is used. An effect processor may provide audio signal components from a TV receiver in a variable, user related ratio from a TV stereo audio signal. USE/ADVANTAGE - For Hi-FI, stereo TV reproduction, with low-cost loudspeaker arrangement for headphone application. Near natural sound irrespective of reproduction medium.
