Double ring tension infiltration measuring device for determining hydraulic conductivity of soil in field - has infiltration system connected to water supply system and is divided into two separate complete concentric infiltration chambers
The double ring tension infiltrometer determines the unsaturated hydraulic conductivity of soils. The infiltration system (1) is subdivided in at least two separate, complete infiltration chambers. The outer chamber (2) concentrically encloses an inner chamber (3). A Mariott water supply system (4) contains at least two infiltration vessels (5, 6), respectively one chamber of which feeds the infiltration system. Two or more infiltration vessels (5, 6) from a Mariott vessel (7) are controlled at the same vacuum. ADVANTAGE - Direct relationship can be obtained between stationary infiltration flow and hydraulic conductivity, which is also independent of hydraulic parameters of type of soil tested.
