According to this method, on transmission, the signal S1(t) from a low-rate digital channel is added to that S2(t) from a high-rate digital channel by over-modulation or superposition means (13) which generate a composite transmission signal S(t). On reception, the signal S2(t) from the high-rate digital channel is recovered thanks to regeneration means (24) operating on the composite transmission signal S(t).
