PURPOSE:To eliminate peeling due to a run and to take an accurate measurement by laminating an electric resistance layer for heat generation made of a transparent conductive film on the surface of a temperature sensing liquid crystal layer. CONSTITUTION:The electric resistance layer 3 for heat generation made of the transparent conductive film 5 is laminated on the surface of the temperature sensing liquid crystal layer 4. Further, the surface on the side of the liquid crystal layer 4 is adhered to a body 1 to be measured by using an adhesive 2. Then electrodes 6 are formed on the resistance layer 3 along both sides of the surface, an electric wire is fixed, and a power source 7 is connected. Here, a voltage is applied to generate heat and heat the body 1 to be measured, and thereafter air is blown to the surface for cooling, thereby observing the surface of the liquid crystal layer 4 through the resistance layer 3 in this state. Then the liquid crystal colors in dark brown as a low-temperature color on the upstream side, changes to higher-temperature colors in order toward the upstream side, and colors in Nile green uniformly in the nearly half area on the downstream side, so that the temperature distribution of the body 1 to be measured is accurately measured.
