PURPOSE:To prevent external turbulence caused by the fluctuation of feed quantity and control the temperature of a distillation column stably by detecting the width of variation of the tank level by means of an automatic changing and controlling of feed quantity to increase and decrease the feed quantity. CONSTITUTION:A temperature control means to detect the width of variation of the tank level within a fixed period of time periodically is provided in a distillation column 1 in which the feed quantity is controlled by a flow regulator 11 according to the level of a cushion tank 2. In the temperature control means, a first operation means 12 performs an integration to operate the measured value of a detecting means 8 when a first timer 16 starts, and a flow regulator 11 is actuated to increase and decrease the feed flow when said value comes up more than a fixed value set by a first modified value setting means 14. Accordingly, only when the level is varied within a fixed period of time to be under a certain condition, the modification of setting the fluid quantity can be carried out automatically, and by selecting the time set by the timer and a modified value adequately, the operation frequency for modifying the feed quantity is to be minimized.
