PURPOSE:To enhance measuring accuracy while dispensing with correction, by a method wherein each constant coefficient of a predetermined characteristic equation is calculated by actual measurement using a specimen of which quantity of water and basis wt. CONSTITUTION:A large number of specimens each known in its quantity (x) of water and basis wt. (y) are actually measured to determine each constant coefficient of formula I (wherein R0, F1, F2, F3, V0, V1, V2, V3... are constant coefficient and F3 and V3 are not zero identically). By measuring the frequency (f) and voltage (v) of the microwave of a material to be measured at the max. resonance point using the formula I of which constant coefficients are determined, the quantity (x) of water and the basis wt. (y) can be measured simultaneously. Even if formula II is used, a value not too deviated from an actual value can be obtained.
