PURPOSE:To omit to read a journal at the time of the use of the sharing multiplexing volume is started by calculating the number of the base editions based on the number of the newest edition of the journal written in respective physical volumes and informing other system during the action of the number of the calculated base editions, after an equality assurance processing. After the equality assurance processing is executed, the number to add 1 to the maximum value in the number of the newest journal editions of all systems is informed to all other systems during the action as the number of the base editions, and the number of the base editions is made into the initial value of the number of the journal edition of its own system. In case a logical volume uses newly the logical volume under the condition already used by other system, the enquiry of the number of the base editions for other system in use is executed and the number of the base editions for other system in use is executed and the number of the base editions sent from other system is made into the initial value of number of the journal editions of its own system.
