PURPOSE: To provide a solvent-resistant, compatible compound which possesses excellent impact strength, tensile strength, and thermal stability by compounding specified amts., of a polyphenylene ether, a polyester mixture, and an elastomeric impact resistance improver. ;CONSTITUTION: This solvent-resistant, compatible compound comprises: 30 to 45wt.% (hereinafter referred to as '%') at least one polyphenylene ether (A) having a max. unneutralized amino type nitrogen content of 800ppm [e.g. poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene ether)]; 50 to 65% polyester mixture (B) of 40 to 65% polymer comprising units of B1 represented by formula I (wherein R1 represents a 2-10C divalent aliph. or alicyclic hydrocarbon; and A1 represents a monocyclic divalent arom. group) with 35 to 60% polymer comprising units of B2 represented by formula II (wherein A2 and A3 are the same as A1; and Y represents a crosslinking group); and (C) 0 to 20% at least one elatomeric impact resistance improver compatible with the component (A).
