PURPOSE: To provide the silver halide photographic sensitive material having an excellent relation between sensitivity and fogging and is wide in exposing region by constituting silver halide particle surfaces of silver bromoiodide having (110) faces and having a core/shell structure. ;CONSTITUTION: The silver halide particle surfaces formed in the presence of a tetrazaindene compd. consist of the silver bromoiodide having the (110) faces and having the core/shell structure at the time of forming the silver halide particles. The silver halide particles are crystals having the crystal faces (quasi-(110) face) having a ridge line at the center of the Miller index (110) face and/or the Miller index (110) face on the outside surface and may be a normal crystal or twins (inclusive of multiple twins). The silver halide compsn. may contain silver halides (for example, silver chloride) exclusive of the silver bromoiodide.
