PURPOSE: To provide a device permitting that a test analyzer transfers a specimen to a container receiving a member having a culture medium without being brought into contact with the test specimen or without inhaling a substance flowed out from the specimen, and to provide a method for inoculating the specimen, enabling the spreading of the specimen on the culture medium by the transfer not limited to a single direction. ;CONSTITUTION: This device for storing and analyzing a specimen is provided with the first container 1 and the second container 5 for receiving a specimen and a maintained culture solution. Therein, the first container is provided with at least two mutually communicating chambers 2, 3, among which the first chamber 2 is provided with a member 17 holding a culture medium and a spreading member 19. At least one member 14 projected into the chamber and capable of breaking at least one weak portion 26 of the bottom 5A of the second container 5 is formed on the bottom 13 of the second chamber 3. The second container can be inserted into the second chamber 3.
