PURPOSE: To provide a device permitting that a test analyzer transfers a specimen to a container receiving a member having a culture medium without being brought into contact with the test specimen or without inhaling a substance flowed out from the specimen, and to provide a method for inoculating the specimen, enabling the spreading of the specimen on the culture medium by the transfer not limited to a single direction. ;CONSTITUTION: This device for storing and analyzing a specimen is provided with the first container 1 and the second container 5 for receiving a specimen and a maintained culture solution. Therein, the first container is provided with at least two mutually communicating chambers 2, 3, among which the first chamber 2 is provided with a member 17 holding a culture medium and a spreading member 19. At least one member 14 projected into the chamber and capable of breaking at least one weak portion 26 of the bottom 5A of the second container 5 is formed on the bottom 13 of the second chamber 3. The second container can be inserted into the second chamber 3. When the specimen is spread on the culture medium and the surface of the member 7 holding the spreading member 19, the specimen is preferably spread along a route approximately extended in the mutually orthogonal directions parallel and perpendicular to the axis of the member 7.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
