FEL RING AND USING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: To provide an easy control of management and a simple structure by functionally incorporating both damping of an electron beam and an FEL generating operation while using one FEL ring. ;CONSTITUTION: Wigglers 3', 3' having different specifications are interposed at linear parts of an electron storage ring body 2 of an FEL ring 1', and resonance systems 5, 5' are provided. The system 5 is removed to have a damping function, and the other wiggler 3' is used for the FEL generation. In this case, the other wiggler 3' is used for damping. The wigglers 3', 3' are selectively operated. Thus, FEL is stably generated while one FEL ring is used, and its wavelength region can be increased.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
