Preparation of curable phenolic resin-modified furan (furanic) resins based on condensation products of alkylidenepolyphenols of the novolak type and furfuryl alcohol or its mixtures with other reactive furan derivatives, also their curable solutions in reactive organic solvents, processes for their preparation, and their use as binders having improved thermal stability (thermostability) for preparing self-curing, chemically stable and high temperature resistant caulks and coatings.
