-14-PROCESS FOR PREPARING VETERINARY ACELLULARVACCINES AGAINST GRAM-NEGATIVE NONENTERICPATHOGENIC BACILLIAbstract of the DisclosureSurface polysaccharide and somatic polysaccharide arerecovered from gram-negative nonenteric pathogenic bacilliin purified forms that are useful as veterinary acellularvaccines either individually or combined. The surfacepolysaccharide recovery process involves shearing thesurface polysaccharide and somatic polysaccharide from thecell membrane, removing the bacteria, isolating thesurface polysaccharide by precipitation with Cetavlon,solubilizing the precipitate, and removing nucleic acidsby ethanol precipitation. The somatic polysaccharide isrecovered from the supernatant remaining after theCetavlon precipitation by ethanol precipitation.
