FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: essence of this method resides in biomicroscoping bulbar conjunctiva, determining concentration of glucose in lacrimal liquid and comparing obtained results with normal figures with regard to changes in bulbar conjunctiva and remoteness of diabetes mellitus. In case of diabetic angiopathy of bulbar conjunctiva and diabetes mellitus lasting not more than 10 years at lacrimal liquid glucose concentration of 0.30 to 0.34 mmol/l, diabetic angiopathy is diagnosed. Ordinary retinopathy is diagnosed when lacrimal liquid glucose concentration is within 0.35 to 0.39 mmom/l and proliferating diabetic retinopathy is diagnosed when lacrimal liquid glucose content ranges from 0.40 mmol/l and above. Whenever lacrimal liquid glucose content is recorded in the range of 0.32 to 0.39 mmol/l, diabetic angiopathy is diagnosed. If lacrimal liquid glucose content is between 0.40 and 0.48 mmol/l, ordinary angiopathy is diagnosed. With this content amounting to 0.49 mmol/l and over, proliferating angiopathy is diagnosed. In case of bulbar conjunctiva angiopathy and diabetes mellitus lasting not more than 10 years, diabetic angiopathy is diagnosed at lacrimal liquid glucose concentration of 0.41 to 0.45 mmol/l, ordinary angiopathy is diagnosed at lacrimal liquid glucose level at 0.46 to 0.49 mmol/l and proliferating diabetic retinopathy is diagnosed at glucose level of 0.50 mmol/l and above. In case duration of diabetes mellitus case exceeds 10 years at lacrimal liquid glucose concentration rate of 0.36 to 0.47 mmol/l, diabetic angiopathy is diagnosed. With lacrimal liquid glucose content ranging from 0.48 to 0.59 mmol/l, ordinary retinopathy is diagnosed and if glucose content is equal to or exceeds 60 mmol/l, proliferating diabetic retinopathy is diag nosed. EFFECT: higher accuracy of differential diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy phases in patients suffering from disturbed transparency of optical eye means.
