A small device (Bs) carried on the person reacts immediately to any physiological signal such as an increase in pulse rate or cardiac sound, by sending a pulse to the alarm system (A) associated with a strong-room. The system discriminates against isolated events in single individuals, but responds to signs of collective stress with a warning signal to a police station or patrol, encoded to represent the location of the emergency. An additional signal may be instigated by contact (2) with the floor. USE/ADVANTAGE - Against bank robbery, the police are alerted automatically without the staff being jeopardised by panic activity of an intruder.
