The controller supplies a DC motor (M) and an electrical resistance by a common variable input voltage. The input voltage for the DC motor is controlled in one of two supply lines (c or d), across two parallel multi-stage diode chokes (D1, D2), connected in opposing passage direction. The two multi-stage diode chokes, can be connected in reversed polarity at the DC motor when required. The first multi-stage diode choke (D1) is pref. provided with two to five diodes connected in series, and the second multi-stage diode choke (D2) has ten to eleven diodes connected in series. ADVANTAGE - Supply voltage is maintained for steam generator in simple and cost effective way. Optimal matching between driving and steam generation. Steam generation also occurs when train is driven in reverse.
