The template consists of a frame (5) surrounding an aperture in which the number plate can be located in a fixed position. On the frame is a coordinate axes slide arrangement for two cross-slides (17) carrying drills or end mills which can be rotated and axially fed to produce the bolt holes in the number plate. To use the template it is offered up to the vehicle and the centre distance and transverse position of the cross-slides adjusted until the drills can be entered into the prepared fastening holes of the vehicle and the template is correctly aligned. The cross-slides are then clamped, the number plate located in the template and the bolt holes drilled. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple, accurate and time saving method of positioning bolt holes in vehicle number plate.
