The digital electronic circuit that provides the arithmetic operations is based around a 4-bit binary adder and the shift registers are controlled by pulses from a central control circuit. Push button selections are made for the arithmetic functions and the inputs connect with a number of flip flops. The circuit has one shift register (90) that has the function of always storing the first number that is entered. ADVANTAGE - Simplifies calculation circuit.
