After the mortar application the bricks (1) are individually set on at least one surface, serving as butting or mounting face. The brick downward facing side is set against a dispensing grate (8), together with which it is pressed against a mortar (13) storage surface. Pref. the dispensing grate, after the brick compression against the mortar storage surface, is lifted from the latter over a preset drip height. The grate portion of the dispensing grate amounts to 15-50% of the entire grate surface. USE/ADVANTAGE - Precise mortar application to a building brick in a simple and rapid working step.
