The microstrip waveguide (3, 4) has a substrate (2) whose earthed side lies on a wall (5) of a housing (1). The microstrip (4) graduates into a unilateral suspended substrate conductor (10). A space (7) in the housing (1) above the substrate side opposite this conductor (10) widens into a cross-section corresponding to the cross-section of the hollow waveguide (6). The suspended substrate conductor (10) contacts the hollow waveguide wall. Conductive surfaces (11, 12) may be arranged at the side of the suspended substrate conductor (10). These contact the earth line (4) of the microstrip (3, 4). A metal plate (9) may be placed on the suspended substrate (10). This is screwed through the substrate (2) to a projection (8) on the housing (1). ADVANTAGE - Achieves low-loss transmission at minimal cost.
