摘要
A "first order supply voltage suppression" in the form of an automatic switch-over system which relates to a bipolar power supply ensures that the pole half which is not needed for the current polarity of a half wave is switched off. As a result, power dissipation can be saved which, due to the phase angle of the load impedance, is caused in the other control stage in each case during a load current flowing with the opposite polarity. During operation with a purely resistive load, this supply voltage suppression is ineffective. A "second- or higher-order supply voltage suppression" in the form of an automatic switch-over system which relates to a bipolar power supply, the two pole sides are subdivided into in each case two or more independent series-connected supply voltages, ensures that the operating voltage components not required for modulating the output stages are switched off (suppressed). In these circuits, the reduction in power dissipation also becomes effective with purely resistive loads but especially with reactive loads.
