Sorption of CO2 by CaCl2 from the Solvay soda process

A process is described for separating off CO2 from exhaust gases. The absorption proceeds in the presence of basic substances sodium hydroxide solution, potassium hydroxide solution, iron hydroxide or aluminium hydroxide by means by CaCl2 from the Solvay soda process. The CaCO3 formed as well as the reaction products formed from the basic substances, e.g. NaCl, KCl, FeCL3, AlCl3, are reusable raw materials.
