Switched-mode voltage supply giving stabilised DC voltages - suppresses inductive voltage and current peaks, load-dependent switching frequency fluctuations and rectifier diode current resonances
Switched-mode voltage supply giving stabilised DC voltages - suppresses inductive voltage and current peaks, load-dependent switching frequency fluctuations and rectifier diode current resonances
The primary winding (3a) of a first transformer (3) is wired in series with a first on/off switch (4) across the DC source (1) with a parallel diode (5). It is coupled capacitively (6) to a circuit incorporating the primary windings (53a) of a second transformer (53) in series with a second on/off switch (7) and diode (8). The switches are operated in antiphase by a control circuit (14) responsive to the DC output (Vout2) from the second transformer and rectifier (60) so that the outputs from both transformers and rectifiers remain constant. USE/ADVANTAGE - With small, inexpensive, energy-efficient and powerful electronic equipment, the power supply combines the same qualities with higher stability of DC output.
