The invention relates to a product designed for the production, using a simple method, of fermented milk having the appearance of yoghurt. According to this method a liquid product based on milk is produced which enables liquid, pasty or solid substances, of vegetable, animal or synthetic origin, to be added, these substances having a total solids content of 180 to 350 grams per kilo seeded with specific thermophilic bacteria and in that this product is mixed with a preferably equal volume of water which is boiling or just off the boil. This method is principally applicable to the production of fermented milk having the appearance of yoghurt.
