Spectrophotometric repetitive sample prepn. on a porous analysis support - using sample introduction device with short tube and centralising collar to put sample e.g. milk onto refined support area
A sample introduction device (9) consists of a short tube (14), with a centralising collar (20), which is placed on a porous sample support (1). A quantity of sample fluid is introduced into the tube and totally adsorbed onto a precisely defined impregnation zone within the porous sample support. The device is made of plastic to which the sample fuid e.g. milk, will not adhere. The sample introduction device (9) has a short tube (14) with a capacity greater than the vol. (5) of the fluid sample (2). A collar (20) is aligned with a porous sample support (1) to ensure that the sample is delivered into a defined central zone of the support (1). The device is made of plastic to avoid sample adherence at the tube surface (16). The adsorptive capacity of the support (1) is greater than the quantity of sample to ensure quantitative adsorption and accurate positioning. USE/ADVANTAGE - For preparing spectrophotometric samples esp. emulsions such as milk. Can be mechanised for the analysis of large numbers of samples.
