Motor vehicle with hydraulic independent steering control - has independently steered front wheels, each associated with hydraulic control circuit and linked via central pressure control mechanism
The vehicle has at least two steerable wheels mounted on either side of its chassis. A first hydraulic steering system (14) is associated with a first wheel (7), with a similar second hydraulic system (15) associated with a second wheel (8). A hydraulic pressure connecting and pressure control circuit (10,16) delivers pressurised fluid to the two steering systems. The control circuit is such as to allow steering of an inner wheel, during a curved trajectory of the vehicle, to be steered through an angle greater than that through which the outer wheel is steered, according to a predetermined relationship. ADVANTAGE - Improved precision of steering control, giving better wheel alignment and reduced tyre wear.
