The instrument is composed by a set of tubular members (C), one end of each of which is closed and the other open. At the open end two longitudinal slots (A) are cut into the tube wall to define a blade portion (B) which may be struck to produce sound. The sound produced by striking the blade resonates within the hollow body of the tube. A metal collar (D) is secured around the tube close to the closed end of the slots. Different values of the length of the tube and length of the blade portion produce specific sound frequencies when the tube is struck. ADVANTAGE - Good resonance of tone, with wear resistance over prolonged use.
