Reception of multiplexed signals from separately located transmitters for radiotelephone - has receivers spaced half wavelength apart, forming algorithmic signal directions, then using another algorithm to separate signals
Reception of multiplexed signals from separately located transmitters for radiotelephone - has receivers spaced half wavelength apart, forming algorithmic signal directions, then using another algorithm to separate signals
The receiver has N antennas spaced a half wavelength apart, feeding into a receiver (S). The principal is illustrated by two antennas (A1,A2) receiving two signals from two mobile transmitters (M1,M2). Each antenna receives two signals, with the first antenna (A1) signals defined by channel responses (h11,h12) to the two transmitters (M1,M2) respectively. Similarly the signals at the second antenna are defined by channel responses (h21,h22). By combining the signals the contribution of one transmitter one of the signals can be eliminated. To remove the influence of the signal from mobile M2 the relation h11*A1 - h21*A2 = (h22*h11 - h21*h12)*M1, and to remove the contribution from M1 the relation h11*A2 - h12*A1 = (h22*h11 - h21*h12)*M2 are used, -where * denotes complex convolution. Thus the individual signals from the transmitters are separated. ADVANTAGE- Allows receiver station handling capacity to signals from different transmitter stations.
