The clamp consists of a grooved cylindrical head (30) which is threaded on its external surface, onto which a conical nut may be screwed to secure a connecting bar. Two hooks (34,50) with inclined end portions are connected by a screw, one of the hooks being integral with the cylindrical head. The hooks are laterally offset relative to each other and relative to the groove (31) of the head. The arm (33) which links the head to the integrally-formed hook includes a pair of symmetrical cut-outs (331) which correspond to the shape of a pair of lugs (332) of a gripping clamp. ADVANTAGE - Allows degree of lateral play to accommodate different vertebral configurations.
