PURPOSE: To form a coarse crystal pattern on an aluminum alloy and to improve its mechanical properties by subjecting the extruded material of an aluminum alloy to specified heat treatment and artificial aging treatment. ;CONSTITUTION: The extruded shape material of an aluminum alloy, particularly, of an Al-Mg-Si series alloy is heated to ≥400°C, preferably to ≥500°C for ≥30min to coarsen the average grain size of the crystal grains into ≥1mm, and after that, cooling is executed at ≥3600°C/h cooling rate. Next, it is subjected to aging treatment at 170 to 200°C for 2 to 10hr. By applying these heat treatment, the aluminum alloy product with a coase crystal pattern having sufficient mechanical properties such as tensile strength and elongation percentage as a building material can be obtd.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1995,JPO
