METHOD FOR SIMPLY PERFORMING TEST FOR HELICOBACTER PYLORI AND INSTRUMENT FOR PERFORMING TEST

PURPOSE:To provide a method for simply performing a test for Helicobacter pylori which is a bacterium living in tunica mucosa of stomach, and to provide an instrument used therefor. CONSTITUTION:This method for performing a test for Helicobacter pylori comprises collecting a gas in gastric canal and subsequently mainly measuring ammonia and secondarily an organic amine, the ammonia and the organic amine being produced by the action of bacterial flora. The gas in the gastric canal is guided into an oral cavity by the utilization of a vomiting reflex, and the gas in the oral cavity is sucked with an instrument equipped with a gas- detecting tube 16 and a constant volume type suction pump 12. The concentration of ammonia is measured by the discoloration of a detecting agent in the gas-detecting tube 16. A time for required for the detection is short, and the detection method does not give a pain to an examinee. This detection instrument has a simple structure, and is small and inexpensive. Further, the presence or absence and action state of the bacterial flora at the detection time point can readily and immediately be detected.
