PURPOSE: To obtain a method wherein the compression strength of concrete can be estimated with good accuracy by using an object, to be tested, which is smaller than a cylindrical object to be tested. ;CONSTITUTION: Stainless nets 3, 4 which are to be used as electrodes and cells 5, 6 are set on both faces of a concrete object 2 to be tested, the side of a positive pole is filled with an NaOH solution, the side of a negative pole is filled with an NaCl solution, both poles are loaded with a constant voltage for a definite time, the amount of a current which has flowed is found as a rapid chlorine ion permeability, and the compression strength of the concrete is estimated by the rapid chlorine ion permeability on the basis of the relationship between a rapid chlorine ion permeability and a compression strength which have been found in advance.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
