PURPOSE: To provide an implant protector protecting an implant of bone-tendon- bone for use in the treatment of the anterior cruciform ligament from a bone screw locking the same. CONSTITUTION: A ligament implant protector has: a distal shield member having a circular cross-sectional surface and abutting to a screw 12 when the screw 12 is engaged with a screwdriver 14; a proximal holding sleeve put over the screwdriver 14 to removably hold the shield member; and a slender connecting portion connecting the shield member to the holding sleeve. A radially extending handle is attached to the holding sleeve, and the user can avoid damage to an implant caused by the screw, by positioning the protector 18 in the longitudinal direction and rotating direction when inserting the same into a joint through an opening in a patient's skin, and by interposing the shield member between a bone screw and the implant.
