COMPACT WITH FINE QUARTZ SAND POWDER AS AGGREGATE

PURPOSE:To reutilize the industrial waste such as dust collected in regenerating molding sand, the fine powder of molding sand and quartz sand and obtain a compact from the waste by using a combination of the waste, aggregate, cement admixture and water. CONSTITUTION:An aggregate consisting of 70-80wt.% of fine quartz sand powder having 2-30mum grain size, 20-10wt.% of coal powder, 5-7wt.% of bentonite and the balance farina and iron oxide powder, 40 to 60wt.% of cement, based on the aggregate, 5-20wt.% of cement admixture and 25-65wt.% of water based on the cement are mixed. The mixture is formed by a vibrating press-forming machine into the compact of specified shape. Meanwhile, the bentonite is obtained by mixing alkali and alkaline-earth bentonite to utilize the respective binding properties, the farina is added to increase the fluidity of the mixture, and the iron oxide is added to redden the mixture.
