The invention belongs to analytic chemistry and may be used when measuring the amount of lead, zinc, cadmium and other amphoteric heavy metals in the raw plant material.The purpose of the invention is to enhance examination result precision and prolong the life of spectrometer thermographic oven.The method consists in using raw plant material in a sample mineralisation autoclave environment and atomic absorption spectrometric analysis thermographic oven. The innovation is that the abovementioned device is mineralised using 2-6% sulphuric acid 24-50 hours at 40-70 degrees, then it is mineralised 5-12% with caustic soda and 4-8 hours at 140-175 degrees C when the following sample and reagent amounts are present:sample - 0.2-0.5sulphuric acid - 5.1-10.4caustic soda - 5.3-13.6.
