A station for the welding of loosely preassembled motor-vehicle bodies or parts thereof (for example, sides) includes two rotary drums (11) for rapidly changing the frames (13) for positioning the elements to be welded in the operative position, according to the type of structure to be welded. The various positioning frames are rotated by rotors (18) and guided on annular tracks (23) on each rotary drum (11). A sector (23b) of each annular track (23) can be separated and moved along a line transverse the conveyor line for the structures to be welded in order to bring a certain positioning frame into the operative position.
