The device is intended to be combined with a bar (1) carrying a series of cutting disks to form a series of mowing elements (7- 8, 7'-8'), each turning around its respective axis (3,3'). Each mowing element is comprised of a mowing disk (7,7') and cutters (8,8'), carried by the mowing disks. The device consists of a series of cutting groups (5, 6, 6A; 5', 6', 6A) each consisting of a series of supports (5; 5'; 5, 5A;) carrying one or a series of cutters (6-6A, 6'-6A') and intended to be fixed on the mowing disk (7,7') of the mowing element. A cutting group and a mowing element together form a chopping and/or clearing device.
