DEVICE FOR STUDYING EFFECTS OF FOOD STIMULI ON FISHES

FIELD: ichthyology; fish farming. SUBSTANCE: device is a container with sensors. Each sensor is provided with two pairs of contacts. One pair is formed by plates mounted as a cantilever one above the other for angular movement, and the other has a ring and a pendulum under the plates. One end of the pendulum is fastened on the upper plate, and the other end passes through the ring. This end of the pendulum carries substrate with food stimulus. The device is provided with a recording unit having as many input channels as there are the sensors. The device is also provided with counters for summing signals in each channel, a unit controlling the counters, and a LED indicator connected with the counters via the channel indication switch. The device makes it possible to study the responses of a variety of fish species differing in their stereotypes of reacting on food stimuli. The device allows for the activity of fishes to be monitored at different phases of their feeding behavior. EFFECT: convenience in use. 2 dwg
