PURPOSE: To provide a treatment method for extra lengths at the junctures of optical cables capable of integrally handling coated optical fibers consisting of plural pieces of coated optical fibers with each bundle and connecting and taking round the coated optical fibers by each fiber. ;CONSTITUTION: The coated optical fiber bundle is constituted by bundling plural pieces of the coated optical fibers 15 drawn out of an optical cable terminal 24 by a bundled member 16. The coated optical fiber bundle is so arranged as to arrive at its fixing position by turning over after trespassing the fixing position. The coated optical fibers on both sides are fused and coupled in the fixing position. Since the bundled member 16 is removable from the coated optical fiber bundle and is shiftable in position, the sepn. by each of the respective coated optical fibers prior to the bundling is possible at the end of the coated optical fiber bundle. The connection operation is carried out by rising a tray 11 by extending an expandable column 23 which supports the tray 11 for housing the juncture.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
