OBLIQUE ZIRCONIA AND PRODUCTION THEREOF, AND ZIRCONIA MATERIAL USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To obtain an oblique zirconia with phase transfer inhibited, thus useful for obtaining a zirconia material which has high mechanical strength and chemical stability at elevated temperature, particularly for providing a zirconia material with reduced deterioration in mechanical strength in a moisture atmosphere. ;CONSTITUTION: This oblique zirconia includes 2-14 mole % of at least one selected from Y and lanthanoid rare earth elements in the form of a solid solution, or this oblique zirconia contains 4-18 mole % of a multiple system of Sc or Sc and Y and a lanthanoid rare earth elements. This zirconia material includes this oblique zirconia more than 50wt.%. Otherwise, it contains this oblique zirconia more than 1wt.% and the whole zirconia substantially comprises at least one selected from tetragonal or cubic zirconia.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
