PURPOSE:To improve the EMI effect and mechanical/electrical durability through reduction of the number of parts. CONSTITUTION:There is provided a connector into which a cable having a shield member at its circumferential part is inserted, and in which a connector back shell having a tapered part at the inner circumferential part of the opening is coupled in the back so that the cable is connected. This connector comprises a box nut 80 which pressure fixes a ring split member which brings the shield member exposed after being bent outside from the outer circumferential part of the cable into pressure contact with the tapered part of the connector back shell, to the inner circumferential part of the opening of the connector back shell. The connector has a spring member for providing it with a resilient function as well as having a slit 40a for holding the ring split member 40 between the shield and the connector back shell to ensure grounding, and has a wedge structure on the whole form where at least three projections 40b are formed on the box nut 80. The box nut 80 is provided with a flange portion for receiving the projections 40b at the assembling time of the ring split member, and a stepped part having a structure abutting against the end part of the connector back shell.
