MECHANISM FOR DIVIDING STOCK OF RUSH SEEDLING

PURPOSE: To divide a mother plant of rush seedling dug out from a seedling bed into small seedlings suitable for transplantation without damaging the seedling. ;CONSTITUTION: A rush seedling M dug out from a seedling bed is clamped and transferred with a clamping conveyor belt 94 backward and upward along a working frame of a mobile machine body. Seedling dividing tines 118 are placed opposite to each other at the reverse side of the working frame at both sides of the root (a) of the rush seedling M under transportation. The rush seedling M is divided into small seedlings by driving the seedling dividing times 118 with an engine mounted on the mobile machine body A in such a manner as to move the tip of the tine to be intruded into the root (a) from under and draw an elliptic orbit (r) to separate the root (a) toward the opposite lateral sides at a speed higher than the transfer speed of the clamping conveyor belt 94.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
