PURPOSE: To measure the change of concentration with time and the spatial distribution of the concentration by making plural predetermined wavelength rays with equal scattering coefficients irradiate a scattering absorption body with various shapes, obtaining predetermined wavelength ray light amount at a ray detecting position and an average flight distance, and processing the concentration of a specified absorption component. ;CONSTITUTION: Pulse rays with different wavelength λ1, λ2 emitted from a light source 2 such as a laser diode or the like are selected by a wavelength selector 4 based on wavelengths, and irradiate the surface of a scattering absorption body 20 being an object to be measured via a ray guide 6. The rays diffused and transmitted inside the scattering absorption body 20 are accepted by ray guides 8, 9 set at positions of distances γ1, γ2 from a ray incident position, ray signals are converted to electrical signals by ray detectors 12, 13 so as to output ray detection signals. A parameter detection portion 15 detects the light amount and an average flight distance from the respective ray detection signals. A processing portion 16 process the concentration V of absorption components based on parameter values obtained at the detection portion 15, and the processed result is displayed or recorded in a display record portion 18.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
