In radar arrangements with demanding requirements with respect to target detection close to the ground, the large number of land vehicle targets, particularly in the area of busy motorways, leads to false coarse target messages and thus to a high computing load in subsequent signal processing stages such as parameter extractor and tracker. The invention therefore has the object of determining and storing in a learning process the resolution cells in which land vehicle targets occur and to provide coarse target videos from these resolution cells with a marking.
