Multimedia Conferencing System and How to Run Multimedia Conferencing

Describes a technique for controlling the communication state of a multimedia electronic signal representing audio, video / data information. This technique operates in connection with a system comprising a network and a plurality of peripheral devices connected to the network. The new MMS is coupled to the network and is arranged to utilize the network so that multimedia signals can be exchanged at multiple peripherals to provide multimedia conferencing. Multimedia server (MMS) provides the multimedia conference independently, so that the reservation system used in the existing multimedia conference system is no longer required. The conference system is initiated by a multimedia peripheral device equipped in a user interface device for encoding an input signal delivered to a user as a BAS signal. The MMS responds to a BAS DTMFF command issued by a peripheral device for executing the multimedia conference.
