METHOD OF EXTRACTIVE-AMPEROMETRIC DETERMINATION OF PYROCATECHOL IN AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS CONTAINING RESORCINOL AND GUAIACOL

FIELD: analytical chemistry of organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves the determination of pyrocatechol in the presence of other phenols by extraction of analyte with n-butyl alcohol (desalting agent - lithium sulfate) followed by extract titration with lead acetate. Method ensures to carry out the selective pyrocatechol assay in the mixture with other phenols. Method can be used for analytical control of treated sewage in cellulose-paper, aniline-dye industry, in coke-chemical manufacture. EFFECT: enhanced selectivity, extraction degree, increased precision, decreased analysis time.
