Process for generating NC codes

A process for the mfr. of components by an NC controlled machine tool uses an initial identification process (S1,2) to determine the type of processing required based upon 3D data (A1) for the component and different machine data (F1). The machining cycle is established for a specific geometric section (S3,S4) and data generated for the tool path (A2). Cycle data are used to generate an NC code (S6) for use by the machine. Any specific operational data relating to the tooling (FS) can be called from a data base. ADVANTAGE - Rapid and highly efficient working.
