Days light guide system for improved daylight illumination of adjacent interior spaces on building facades

An improvement in the natural lighting of rooms within a building having only front wall windows is obtained with the use of an optical system. While the normally incident bright light from the sky is directed into the lower foremost regions of the room, the higher and innermost regions receive little light. This is improved by positioning an optical collector and conductor at the correct angle in front of the window. The output of the unit is directed onto the ceiling region to provide a uniform effect. The light may also be used for photovoltaic applications.
